Having home repair done? Don’t throw away these old
materials! Recycle them instead!
Home repair is usually replacing old work. With the new work
comes tons of leftover debris. Here are materials
from leftover home repair that most don’t know can be recycled!
- Shingles - Asphalt shingles can be recycled to pave roads.
- Drywall - Many facilities will accept drywall, as long as they are free of foreign objects and lead based paint.
- Paint - Drop off extra paint to a local Household Hazardous Waste facility or donate it to a good-cause. Don’t through it away! It’s hazardous to the environment!
- Brick - Old brick can be ground to make concrete or resold as aged brick
- Carpet - Ask your new carpet dealer about some options for recycling.
