This Saturday, November 15, is America Recycles Day! Every year, America Recycles Day is dedicated to promoting awareness about recycling and works to encourage people throughout the nation to recycle, buy recycled products, and ultimately, act in more environmentally conscious ways. This year, we encourage you to join in on the efforts of many and celebrate this recognized holiday by engaging in some recycling habits of your own. The following are three great recycling tips to help you get started:

1. Even though you can't recycle your whole pizza box due to the grease and residue, you can recycle the top half that is grease free! Moving forward, be sure to recycle the part of your pizza box that you can instead of throwing the whole thing out!
2. Recycle all of your aluminum and steel cans. Did you know that metals are one of the most valuable materials that comes through our waste stream? Since most recycling facilities accept them, be sure to recycle any that you have!
3. Always try to reuse first before setting out to buy something new. Most of the time, old and unused items at home can be substituted for the new item or product you are looking to buy.
