Yesterday, Cornell University released the first pictures of
their $2 billion tech campus that is proposed to be built on New York City’s
Roosevelt Island.
The campus, Cornell NYC Tech, hopes to one day put New York
City up there as a “global destination for start-ups, entrepreneurs, and
computer engineers.” The first phase of Cornell NYC Tech is scheduled to open
in 2017 and the second phase is expected to be completed in 2037.
The five-story Eco friendly campus academic buildings are
rumored to produce as much energy as it takes in.
