It seems as if Apple, one of the nation’s
leaders in technology, is expanding every year. Every couple of months,
Apple releases new products that blow consumers away.
Earlier this week, Apple seemed to be
mentioned a lot on various blogs on the internet after the company made the
decision to no long be a part of a company called EPEAT which is an environmental
certification program for electronics.
Apple has reported that it doesn’t mean
that their future products won’t be constructed without keeping the environment
and environmental standards in mind.
Kristen Huguet, spokeswomen for Apple reported to CNN stating, "Apple takes a comprehensive approach to measuring
our environmental impact and all of our products meet the strictest energy
efficiency standards backed by the U.S. government, Energy Star 5.2. We also
lead the industry by reporting each product's greenhouse gas emissions on our
website, and Apple products are superior in other important environmental areas
not measured by EPEAT, such as removal of toxic materials."
What
do you think about the decision that Apple has made? Do you own any of their products?
