CTR Challenge!

Maspeth, NY 718-416-1656

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) posted their Challenge #2 for New Uses for CRT monitors.

The challenge will award $10,000 to the best proposal for the best use of recycled Cathode Ray Tubes, which once made up most televisions and computers. More recently, LEDs and LCDs make up the standard for computer monitors and TVs and the trade groups expect more than 2 billion pounds of CRT TVs and monitors to enter the recycling stream in the near future.

If you have an idea for these legacy CRTs, check the official challenge. The deadline to submit is 7/1/13. Check out the rest of PCWORLD’s article here.
