Recycling Resumes in NYC After Hurricane Sandy!

New York City has at last resumed recycling, two weeks after super storm Sandy. New York City’s Sanitation Department has resumed picking up paper, cardboard, metals, plastics and glass for recycling day.

All collecting was put on hold after Hurricane Sandy so NYC had time to repair some recycling centers and so that sanitation workers could help pick up storm debris around the city. The city picked up recycling from areas in which would've been collected on Saturday, on Sunday. Also, regularly scheduled recycling pickup took place yesterday as well.
